Sitting on the highest point allowed on the hill and overlooking the bay of Layan Beach is the late Indonesian designer Jaya Ibrahim’s last architecture masterpiece known as Villa Similan.
Villa Similan is one of 15 luxury villas in Layan Residences by Anantara, a branded residential development. The owner of that gorgeous villa is none other than William E. Heinecke, founder of Minor Group. Heinecke owns some of the most beautiful hotels in the world and knows how real luxury looks. The entire villa has been decorated with incredible taste, thanks to Kathy Heinecke, a former art dealer, who has collected artifacts and antiques during years of travelling around the world with her husband. Some of the objects range from indigenous sculptural pieces from Papua New Guinea and South America, to paintings from famous local artists such as Khun Thawan Duchanee.
