Renault chose its home turf for the unveiling of its latest concept car – the Trezor was showcased at the Mondial De L’Automobile Paris 2016, and it stole the show.
Trezor is an all-electric Grand Tourer concept car, and as futuristic as this may sound, it actually has a bit of a vintage feel. This two-seater electric coupé features warm, simple, sensual lines; a clearly defined family face and C-shaped lighting signature. The striking red glazing and innovative carbon bodywork with contrasting surface finishes ad a bite to the design, while Its silhouette displays the classic attributes of a GT.
Red details provide a link between the car’s exterior and interior where a red glazing ensures a bright, warm cabin into which you can peek as into a jewellery box, through the one-piece clamshell roof.
The dashboard is made from red wood and there is a luggage compartment at the front of the car, where made-to-measure cases are held in place by leather straps. Inspiration for the rounded contours of the seats came from the world of furniture design.
Trezor has a maximum power of 260kW (350hp) and peak torque of 380Nm, propelling it to 100 km/h in less than four seconds. Powers supply is taken care of by two batteries, each with its own cooling system. One sits in the front and one in the back of the car, for optimal weight distribution. This high output all-electric powertrain provides a connection with Renault’s innovation in Formula E.
Sounds good? Looks even better, take a look at those images.
