Leather jacket, leather gloves, leather boots, a motorbike, and you’re ready to go. But what if the bike is leather too?
There are no more “what ifs”, a leather bike is now reality, thanks to Vilner Studio – a place where rides from all over the world receive complete makeovers. This time Vilner’s craftsmen sat down to work on a Suzuki Intruder to turn it into something that’s nothing short of a work of art.
This modern interpretation of a classic cruiser is a one-off mix of traditional leather treatment methods and state of art painting techniques. Finished in “patinated copper” achieved by layering no less than six layers of paint and agents, then finalized with a special set of brushes, the coating is extremely durable and weatherproof and comes with a texture that’s satisfying to the touch. The vintage-rat look is boosted by the “copperized” rims and brake rotors.
The leather elements with their details further carry the bike’s message. All the natural leather present in the project has been hand carved using traditional techniques. Even the handles were made with the same natural material and stitched by leather straps.
The only question that remains is does it belong on the road or in an art gallery?
