The highly acclaimed Fireplace Grill and Bar at InterContinental Bangkok is more than a restaurant, it’s an institution, providing guests with a culinary experience of distinction on every occasion. And it’s been doing that for no less than half a century. As it turns fifty, it welcomes a culinary genius for some well-deserved celebrations.
On March 1 and 2, Fireplace Grill and Bar will host a six-course French Wine Dinner delivered by no other than the legendary 2-star Michelin Chef Jean-Marc Banzo. Chef Banzo is the youngest chef in France to be awarded a Michelin star – he got his at the age of 28. Another noteworthy accolade in his collection are three Gault & Millau Guide toques. What brought him fame in culinary circles are his home cooking inspired classic dishes that he uses as foundation for his ever-surprising gourmet experiences.
The menu he prepared for Fireplace Grill and Bar Starting features traditional pissaladiere with black olives from Nyons, roasted milk-fed lamb rack with thyme vegetable tian; rock mullet stuffed ‘façon bécasse’ with seafood and fresh herbs; and smoked duck breast with artichoke ravioli. The meal defined by exquisite depths of flavor and the use of finest of ingredients will end with a delightful cream of Amaretto. All dishes will be accompanied by superb French wines, including such labels as Chateau Ormes de Pez, Domaine Christian Moreau and Château Guiraud.
