Rolex’s Yacht-Master: A watch for the open sea

To introduce Rolex – a brand synonymous with luxury watches – is a waste of time and page space. Let’s then move on to the introduction of its latest timepiece.  Named the Yacht-Master it was designed with those who feel the calling of the sea.

As with any Rolex, the word “Elegance” springs to mind the moment you set your eyes on the Yacht-Master. The chassis is made with 18 carat pink gold, but not just any gold. To preserve the beauty of its pink gold watches, Rolex created and patented an exclusive 18 ct pink gold alloy cast in its own foundry: Everose gold. Is shines and doesn’t lose its glitter with time.

The black  background serves not only as a canvas on which the watch’s creator presents the 18 carat markers in all their glory; it also improves readability making the Yacht-Master not just beautiful but highly useable.

Next comes the Oysterflex Bracelet, designed to be waterproof super durable and patented by Rolex. A sporty alternative to metal bracelets, it attaches to the watch case and the Oysterlock safety clasp by a flexible titanium and nickel alloy metal blade. The inside of the Oysterflex is cushioned with a patented longitudinal system. An 18 ct Everose gold Oysterlock safety clasp prevents accidental opening.

Inside a Rolex developed Caliber 3135 self-winding mechanical movement ensures precision at any time It is a certified Swiss chronometer, a designation reserved for high-precision watches that have successfully passed the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) tests.
