Many marketing experts like to talk, luckily for us, some like to act as well. A shining example comes from SO Sofitel Bangkok – a brand which turns slogans of creativity and design into reality.
Hotel as a place to relax? Naturally. Hotel as a meeting space? Obviously. Hotel as a canvas? Yes, at So Sofitel Bangkok. How? By allowing young creative minds to express themselves.
To do just that the hotel recently hosted a design competition during which four of the city’s best young talents have been picked to showcase their art installations at the 4th annual Wanderlust Art & Fashion Exhibition from September to October 2016. Each of the four finalists will receive THB 20,000 towards the resources needed to bring their concepts to life. Based on their final display, the judges will select one winner which best illustrates the “Wanderlust” contest theme on the opening night of the exhibition on 1 September 2016. The top artist will receive an additional THB10,000 in prize money.
Ensuring the highest for the competition is a panel of expert judges which includes Tawn Chatchavalvong, the designer behind his namesake Tawn C. women’s apparel brand, Assistant Professor Patcha U-Tiswannakul of Chulalongkorn University, the celebrated painter and illustrator Parn Somnuek Klangnok and Boss Thamatat Liangthamarathof Him and Her Studio, past winner of the Thailand Fashion Designer Award.
But the hotel provided more than just awards and judges, it provided heaps of inspiration through its location. SO Sofitel Bangkok is overlooking the verdant Lumpini Park – a destination which provides urban dwellers an escape to nature and a theme for this year’s “Wanderlust”
“This is the first year we’re opening the exhibition to young talents and we were amazed by the creativity shown by all the contest entries.” Sais Mr. Yves Mudry, general manager of SO Sofitel Bangkok. “Our key brand pillars include creativity and design, so it’s fitting that we offer our hotel as a canvas for these standout undergraduate talents to express themselves through art and fashion” he added.
The 4th annual Wanderlust Art & Fashion Exhibition will open from 1 September to 31 October 2016 using four different spaces inside SO Sofitel Bangkok, located on the public areas on the 7th and 9th floors.
